Filter Water On The Go!

I was ecstatic when the market was flooded with reusable water bottles. Perfect! I thought no more of the one-time use water bottles being sold. Yet, every other customer at the supermarket has a case of water bottles under their cart. I finally asked some friends why they continued to buy the bottled stuff and ironically fill their reusable water bottle with it; every answer came back the same, water on the go! They didn’t trust the taste of tap water out and about.

Enter Guyot Designs, who created the TapGuard, tap water purified on the spot through a filter that sits in the water bottle. It removes up to 95% of chlorine, iodine and other chemical. It fits most wide mouth water bottles and comes with 2 charcoal filters, enough to filter 200 liters of water; saving 400 plastic bottles, 65 pounds of carbon dioxide and two gallons of oil. Plus, it’s BPA free and its carbon footprint is negative, carrying 50 pounds of verified greenhouse emissions!

The customer service is amazing as well. I had misplaced my directions and wasn’t sure how to fill my water bottle - was the water filtered as the bottle was being filled or as you drank it? (FYI – It’s filtered as you drink it) So, I sent an e-mail to the company asking for advice, and within 15 minutes had received a reply from the President with specific instructions on how to use my TapGuard!

I have to tell you I’m so excited about the Tapguard, not only is it an environmentally sound product, it works great! At first I was concerned the filtration of water through the TapGuard would cause slow flow, but it doesn’t, not one bit! Many people have asked me about it when they see it in my water bottle and I can’t stop raving about it and sending them to REI to buy one.
