ERGObaby Carriers

Uneducated about baby carriers my husband and I used two Snugli front carriers with our twins. When our third son was born we invested in a BabyBjorn carrier and a HotSling, which were both worth every penny. When we recently reviewed the ERGObaby organic carrier, our life changed. Sounds dramatic right? I know, but the ERGObaby organic carrier has made stay at home mom life with 3 yr. old twins and a 15 month old safer and less chaotic. I can put the little man in the ERGObaby and still have two hands to hold the twins' hands. You wouldn't think that would be so life changing but it really is with 3 kids, especially walking in busy parking lots and crowded areas. Sure, they listen to me 90% of the time in these situations but what if the 10% time just happens to be the day they get hit by a car or lost in a crowd. That's why when we are in public places they are holding my hand. I see parents trusting their toddlers and preschoolers in situations like this and it's terrifying to watch. I'm sure every parent thinks "it will never happen to my child". As parents, we don't want to think about these things but we would all try to prevent them. Babywearing allows parents to play it safe. ERGObaby allows you to play it safe longer!
  • ERGObaby carriers can be worn in 3 positions, front, hip and back.
  • ERGObaby carriers can be used for infants all the way up to children weighing 40lbs!
  • ERGObaby's design supports the correct sitting position for the baby's hip, pelvis and spine growth. This design is recommended by numerous pediatricians and doctors, even chiropractors!
  • ERGObaby carriers are ergonomically correct for even weight distribution and minimum impact on the adult carrying the baby.
  • ERGObaby carriers come with a handy little adjustable sleep hood to keep your baby's head supported during naps and to give the baby added privacy.
  • ERGObaby carriers can be easily adjusted for nursing, use the sleep hood for added privacy for Mom!

Those are just a few of the great benefits of an ERGObaby carrier. The list goes on and on! I'm sure each individual parent that owns an ERGObaby carrier has a list of their own as well. Here's my top three!

  • Supports the weight and size of my 15 month and my 3 year olds. Yep, even the twins fit in this carrier and they LOVE it. The day we got our carrier, the boys took turns being carried around the house. I had the carrier on for over an hour with weights between 21 lbs. and 31 lbs. without any stress or strain on my body.
  • This carrier is great for day hiking! We took our boys hiking for 2 hours and instead of using our Kelty Carrier we took the ERGObaby carrier along for our journey. The ERGO performed every bit as well as the Kelty and weighs considerably less!
  • The ERGObaby can be used many months (even years!) longer than other carriers can, allowing me to keep all of my children safe by my side and the close bonding that babywearing provides even longer.
I really can't rave enough about this carrier. If all of the great features aren't enough for you, you can also purchase lifestyle accessories to keep you hands free! These include an infant insert, a backpack, and a front pouch! GiveThemRoots was given the chance to review the entire hands-free system and it is AMAZING!

The backpack attaches directly to the carrier. Now you can store diapers, wipes, snacks, anything you need right there, eliminating the need for a diaper bag. The front pack can be worn with the backpack/carrier system for easy access to small things, like cell phones, keys, a compass, whatever your heart pleases! The infant insert is perfect for making sure your infant is comfortable and to allow you to use your carrier even earlier!

My son gets carried all over. He's one; he walks, but he'd much prefer Mama time! So whenever I'm cooking or vacuuming I put him in the sling. He's getting to a point where the sling isn't the greatest on my shoulder and the Ergo carrier would be awesome! We do a lot of walking with our new puppy, so that would be handy as well.

I love to carry my daughter - we use or have used a variety of wraps, carriers and slings. She likes to be held close and keeping up with her 2.5 yo sister is hard when your only 9 months. We are very active outside and go run errands and shopping. I love to carry her over using a stroller and Ergo is so versatile. I also love the poncho wrap they have for moms to use while carrying baby... perfect for the colder temp we have here in the Midwest. Fantastic product. shawnahehr(at)yahoo(dot)com

I would love this for my daughter. I love the fact that they accommodate higher weights -- my daughter is almost 9mos and already nearing the the 30lbs mark (she's also very tall). We've tried so many wraps and slings without success, and I would love the Ergo. I would use it around the house when she's close to naptimes, but I would also love to use it when running errands to keep her close.

I would use this EVERYWHERE. Specifically, the laundry room where my only option for setting my baby down is in a pile of dirty laundry or the cold cement floor (ew!), the mall, where I love to walk and shop but get REALLY tired holding my 20 lb. 5 month old. I also love hiking and snowshoeing, which I haven't been able to do lately. I've heard the Ergo is much better than all other products out there, my baby and I would be grateful! Our third baby is due in eleven weeks...and I plan to wear her every chance I get. I'm not on strollers until the babies are bigger, so I'd wear her when we are out on walks, shopping, to the zoo, probably even around the house at some point too!

I've recently learned about ERGO carriers and am really covetous. I have a 20 month old and a son in senior kindergarten half days. Every day at 10:50am, my youngest son walk 3 and a 1/2 miles to the school to pick up my older son. In the winter it's a nightmare. I've actually broken over a thousand dollars worth of strollers, so I carry my son, but he just outgrew a handmade ABC and a sling just wouldn't be comfortable for a walk that long. So, I'd wear the ERGO on my trek to school every morning.
