DIY: Maternity Pants

If you are anything like me, looking for maternity pants is the biggest pain in the you know what! You won't see me on a cat walk any time soon but my body is also not built the way maternity pants are! Is anyone's?!? I end up with pants that scoot down constantly, have room for friends in the butt and thighs and still cost an arm & a leg considering they are only worn for maybe 4 months total! PROBLEM SOLVED.

A friend sent me this great tutorial on how to turn a pair of regular pants into maternity pants!!! It's very easy and I believe any beginner sewer could do it. If you've ever bought a pair of 7 For All Mankind maternity jeans you know two things: 1- they are approximately $200 and 2- all 7 did was cut the waist off and added a little stretch knit. So, why can't you do this yourself? It's simple, you can.

Check it out here: GROSGRAIN FABULOUS

If you give it a shot let me know what you think! I'm going to try the first free moment I get... which could be when my boys are all grown and I'm making them for their wives! Ha.

Happy sewing and remember to thank Grosgrain Fabulous for the awesome tutorial!

Great tip. I have not found any good pants yet. I do have my belly band that I picked up at Target. It is working for now. I will cross the maternity pants bridge soon I am sure.
Only 3 months to go!
