Gettin' Dirty in the Great Outdoors

Cold weather can make discovering the big world challenging for both children and parents. What are you supposed to do when it's freezing cold outside? How do you teach your children to appreciate mother nature on a blustery winter day?

I was recently given the opportunity to read and review the book I Love Dirt by Jennifer Ward. This is a great book and a must have if you have school aged children! I Love Dirt! is a book with "52 creative ideas to help you and your child discover the wonders of natures". This book is perfect for parents that want to be more involved with their children outdoors. I Love Dirt! covers each season. Every activity has a Help Me Understand section with a question and answer about nature that relates to the activity; making this book a great education source for teachers, homeschooling parents, or anyone wanting to teach their child more about the amazing world we live in.

We have family in town for Thanksgiving this week and I have picked out a great activity for my boys to do with their older cousins. We'll post pictures of our wintry craft and I'll let you know how each age did, which range from 3-10 years old. We will be building a little treat to help out the birds traveling south for the winter.

Sneak over to Amazon.com and you can grab your own copy of I Love Dirt! or WIN A FREE COPY WHILE YOU'RE HERE! To make it even easier to win, we're going to give you five chances per person!

***Congratulations Katherine S.*** winner of the I Love Dirt book giveaway!
