The most amazing Christmas catalog came in our mail- World Vision Gifts. World Vision is a humanitarian group, one of the UN's leading for poverty aid. This year (and maybe several years past), they have a catalog of gifts you can send in honor of your loved ones to a village in need around the world. There are gifts in all different price ranges. Here's a few of my favs!

Two Chickens: $25 will give two chickens that will provide a family with a lasting source of nutrition and income. Fresh eggs raise the levels of nutrients in a family’s diet, and the sale of extra eggs provides money for the family.

Seeds for two families $34 "Impoverished farming families in countries like Thailand, Lesotho, and Zambia struggle to raise enough food for their children. The seeds they use may be of poor quality, or they may not be able to afford seeds at all. Your gift will offer two families a life-changing solution: fast-growing hybrid or drought-resistant seeds for a bounty of nutritious crops such as maize, rice, cassava, carrots, cabbage, green beans, peas, and onions. Surplus crops can be sold to supplement family income!"
10 Fruit Trees : $60 "Mangoes, oranges, and other fruits are packed with vitamins and nutrients that growing kids need. In just two or three years, such trees can also yield enough fruit for much-needed extra income, offer shade from the sweltering heat, and provide seedlings to give other families their own start in tree farming. Bless a family in a country such as El Salvador, Myanmar, or Zambia with a grove of fruit trees today!"
Goat: $75 "The early-morning bleating of a dairy goat is a happy sound for children in countries like Haiti and Kenya — they know it’s ready to be milked. A goat nourishes a family with protein-rich milk, cheese, and yogurt, and can offer a much-needed income boost by providing offspring and extra dairy products for sale at the market. It even provides fertilizer that can dramatically increase crop yields!"
There are so many gifts you can give in honor of someone that will make a real impact on the life of someone else. So, while you're out doing your holiday shopping this year and you're stumped on a gift recipient, I urge you to consider giving a gift that will really matter. Each gift you purchase comes with a card for your loved one to let them know they have been a part of something much larger! Your card can be personalized as well.

Love it! The perfect gift for those have everything and don't want anything else material in their lives, and come to think about it, it's also the perfect gift for those that continue to want more and more and more... A little perspective is always a great gift.
I completely agree! Well said.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
