Breastfeeding & 10 Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me About It- by Alpha+Mom

Alpha+Mom's post is Must-Read for expecting parents. Note, I said parents not mothers. Breastfeeding. Isn't. Always. Easy! Sometimes common problems cause unwanted stress & can make a new mother feel like she's failing. The important part of that sentence is "common problems", every mother experiences "a glitch in the Matrix" and this article can help prepare you for those glitches!

Here's the 10 things but you have go to Alpha+Mom's site HERE for the rest of scoop (and for it to make sense)!

1. Your first time breastfeeding might not be magical.
2. Your baby is born knowing how to suck, not latch.
3. If you don't ask for help, you will not get any help.
4. All. Purpose. Nipple. Ointment.
5. Knowing the difference between "eating sucking" and "comfort sucking", can save your nipples from a lot of unnecessary wear and tear.
6. Yes, it hurts at first, but it will stop hurting. If it keeps hurting, something is wrong.
7. Tongue Tie! Tongue Tiiiiiiiie.
8. Take Probiotics before you starting nursing - before you give birth, even- to ward off Thrush.
9. Oh my God, Take a Tylenol already!
10. When breastfeeding works it is the awesome sauce.

What are you waiting for? GO!!! already!

Special thanks to Amalah @ Alpha+Mom for being so dang smart!
