Nursing Bra Nonsense

That's exactly what I thought of nursing bras with our first 3 kids...nonsense. Total nonsense. I mean, seriously, do the shoulder straps really have to be the width of my infant's leg? Why does the back strap constantly slide up? Can I please get a bra that doesn't look like my grandma's? I tried numerous brands before I totally gave up on nursing bras with my third son and opted for regular bras. I pulled a crazy maneuver to get my arm out of one strap every time I needed to nurse. There is nothing convenient about that. And, there is nothing attractive or sexy about nursing bras. Nothing. Or is there? Welcome to 2010 and HELLO Bella Materna!

One last thing, 3 things to look for in a nursing bra:

1. No Underwire. Underwires can cause painful problems, such as clogged ducts which can lead to mastitis, a very serious infection that can cause hospitalization.
2. Support. There's going to be some extra weight in those bad boys (or better yet, girls). Make sure you find a bra that gives proper support. You will look and feel better!
3. Proper Fit. Your bra should fit like a glove, not too loose & not too tight. Here's a few signs that your bra doesn't fit correctly: strap slides up your back, bulging of skin on the back, overflowing from the cups, discomfort, or lack of support.
