10 Ways to Use a Rain Barrel

When we first set up our rain barrel, we planned to use the water for our flowers and herb gardens. Guess how much water that uses? Maybe 5 out of 32 gallons and we've been getting a LOT of rain lately. After a little brain storming, I've come up with some great ways to use all 32 gallons and then some!

1. Water gardens.
2. Water hanging baskets.
3. Wash the dog.
4. Clean/ Rinse the outdoor toys.
5. Wash the car.
6. Rinse sandy hands & feet off.
7. Fill outdoor water toys (Water guns, Water Tables, etc.).
8. Clean/Rinse outdoor furniture.
9. Refresh the water in bird baths.
10. Fill toilet tanks.

Any other ideas?

We use the extra water (ours is 50 gallons) to fill the pool. Wash the car, and water my tomatoes.
